Lismore Armlet - Sterling silver historical replica bracelet from Iron Age Lismore find
An exquisite reinterpretation of the Iron Age armlet of Lismore, as an adjustable bangle bracelet.
The armlet is made to fit small to medium wrists, with some flexibility to adjust - it is unisex.
The Lismore armlet originates in Scotland, on the Isle of Lismore, and is believed to have been cast somewhere around the year 200AD. This piece is one of the more refined and elegant armlets of this style, named the “massive armlets” as they were cast as a single mass of bronze.
The Lismore armlet consists of two strand instead of the usual 3, making it extremely elegant. It also features the characteristic trumpet, tread and bead decoration pattern, common amongst jewelry of the early iron age in Britain.
This piece was made with inspiration, collaboration and help from many of our friends, and a huge thank you goes to all those who participated in the project.
